Glovo presents its perspectives for Africa in Ivory Coast

Glovo co-founder Sasha Michaud recently visited Côte d\’Ivoire to present his future investments in Côte d\’Ivoire.

The giant specialized in home delivery plans to invest more than 4.5 million euros, about 2.9 billion Fcfa, in Côte d\’Ivoire by the end of 2022. Thus, its objective is to continue building equipment and be the market leader in this country.

As confirmed in this meeting between Glovo and figures from the Ivory Coast government, Glovo intends to expand to ten new cities next year: \”We plan to open in ten cities, including San-Pedro, Man, Abengourou …\” , Sasha Michaud specified. “The adoption of Glovo by Ivorians on a daily basis is a reality. Glovo has become a common name, in particular thanks to a good operation (delivery in 30 minutes) ”.

On the environmental level, Glovo has committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by next year 2022. The company also has alliances with local companies to recycle its plastic bags and waste.

\”Glovo\’s social impact in Ivory Coast is confirmed with the signing of a partnership with FoodWise to be able to make free deliveries of unsold products to local orphans. Another alliance was also signed with the Ivory Coast Food Bank to channel donations and their free distribution to the most vulnerable people, ”continued the Glovo founder.

Glovo\’s investments in sub-Saharan Africa already represent about $ 25 million. Going forward, the Glovo co-founder has indicated, \”We plan to invest approximately $ 50 million in the next 12 months in Africa.\” Present in 7 African countries, for Glovo, Africa represents 30% of its total business.

Glovo Ivory Coast plans to hire about 40 people until the end of 2021 and its expected turnover by the end of 2022 is more than 3.3 million Euros.
